Hello Melba,

When I was 18, I walked into a music store here in Ottawa, Canada and bought your "Living To Give" LP, mostly because of the great cover. I don't think I'd ever seen anything so cute and beautiful ... and with a great Afro. I'll never forget the first time I heard your voice. It sent chills up my spine then and it still does today. I think back to when I first discovered Melba Moore and keep it as a treasured memory. I just re-read a June 17, 1972 article from TV Guide which I had tucked away in your Melba Live! LP.

Thank you for sharing with us for almost 40 years the gift of your wonderful voice.

Melba you were better than ever at your Allentown, PA performance at Mayfair in 2003. Everyone with you was so nice to me and one guy even called me Mr. Steel Pier!!! What an honer. Your co-hosting with Ed Hurst was great in 1977 and your "This Is It" LP is a classic with the Van McCoy tunes "Free" and "Lean On Me".

I also love your disco hit in 1979 "Pick Me Up, I'll Dance" and your Bee Gees cover of "You Stepped Into My Life".  I guess I told you all this in 03. I'm so very happy to know that you are still going strong. I hope you return to the Lehigh Valley again real soon.

Take care and God Bless from the Real Humdinger.

Finally I get to write you Ms. Moore......many many years ago I had the distinct pleasure of your concert held in Halifax, Nova Scotia.....although at the time (early 80's) not many knew of what they were going to miss if they did not attend your performance...the crowd was thin but faithful...you were scheduled for two shows...I went to the first show and was dismayed at the low turnout....HOWEVER, your band came out and wowed everyone with the opening number...then...at last you appeared....and I think a bit startled that the crowd was few, but you opened and sang and I went to butter all over again hearing your voice live...(I had been following your career years before that night) what impressed me was your words after the first number.....you said hello and welcomed us to the concert hall ....and that obviously we were your true fans and that you were going to ""give us what you would give at Carnegie Hall" and Wow!!! you did!! It was then and now a highlight in my life.....

it is hard to get black gospel music in Halifax....I suppose the market is distinct to a group most major stores don't cater to musical needs...however I am ordering you CD today....as I know God Delivers...and so do you!! Bless you Melba as always God Be With You!
